Backup & Restore Policy

1. Purpose

This Backup & Restore Policy outlines the procedures and commitments of mediabirdco.net in safeguarding client data hosted on our infrastructure. The goal is to ensure data availability, reduce the risk of loss, and support efficient recovery from unplanned disruptions or data corruption.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and cloud hosting services provided by  mediabirdco.net. It covers automated backups, customer-initiated backups, data retention, and restoration practices.

3. Backup Terms

  • Automated backups are conducted daily for shared hosting environments and weekly for VPS and dedicated servers unless otherwise specified.
  • Backup retention period is up to 7 days for shared hosting and up to 3 versions for VPS and cloud solutions.
  • Customers are encouraged to maintain their own backups in addition to ours, especially for mission-critical data.
  • Backup services are not guaranteed unless included in your hosting plan or purchased as an add-on.
  • Backups include website files, databases, email data (where applicable), and control panel settings.

4. Restore Terms

  • Restore requests can be made via the customer support portal or email.
  • Data restoration is subject to availability of the backup and may take 2–24 hours to complete.
  • There may be a nominal fee for manual restores unless included in your hosting plan.
  • Emergency or priority restoration requests may be subject to additional charges.

5. Customer Responsibilities

  • Maintain updated local backups for critical data.
  • Report any data loss, site corruption, or backup failure as soon as detected.
  • Ensure applications or scripts do not interfere with scheduled backups.
  • Periodically verify the integrity of restored data if using self-restore tools.

6. Company Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable backup systems based on your hosting plan’s specifications.
  • Monitor backup jobs and resolve any reported issues promptly.
  • Safeguard backups using secure storage, encryption (where applicable), and access controls.
  • Assist with restoration upon valid request.

7. Limitations

  •  mediabirdco.net does not guarantee that backups will always be available, up-to-date, or usable under every circumstance.
  • Data modified or deleted between the last backup and the restore point may not be recoverable.
  • Backups are primarily for disaster recovery and not meant to serve as an archival service.

8. Disclaimers

  • mediabirdco.net shall not be held liable for loss of data due to force majeure, hardware failure, customer action, or failure to adhere to this policy.
  • This policy is subject to change without prior notice. Customers are encouraged to review it periodically.
