Migration Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Migration Policy is to define the framework under which JAMILATECH Ltd manages and facilitates the transfer of client websites, applications, emails, and associated data to our hosting infrastructure. This policy aims to ensure a transparent, secure, and efficient migration process while maintaining data integrity and minimizing downtime.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all new and existing customers requesting data or website migration to JAMILATECH Ltd’s hosting environment from third-party hosting providers. It includes managed migrations, self-service migrations, and bulk account transfers (including for resellers).

3. Definitions

  • Migration: The process of moving website files, databases, emails, and DNS configurations from one hosting provider to another.
  • Source Host: The original hosting provider where the client’s website is currently hosted.
  • Destination Host: JAMILATECH Ltd’s hosting infrastructure where the client intends to migrate their website.
  • Managed Migration: A migration fully handled by JAMILATECH Ltd’s support team.
  • Self-Service Migration: A migration initiated and executed by the client without technical involvement from JAMILATECH Ltd’s support team.

4. Terms of Migration

4.1 Eligibility

Migration services are available to all JAMILATECH Ltd clients with an active hosting subscription. Free migration is typically offered for up to 1 website per account unless otherwise stated in promotional or contractual agreements.

4.2 Supported Platforms

JAMILATECH Ltd supports migration from most common hosting platforms including cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, and custom Linux environments. CMS platforms like WordPress, Joomla, Magento, and Drupal are also supported.

4.3 Migration Timelines

Migration timelines depend on the complexity and size of the website or application. Typical migration may take 24 to 72 business hours. Clients will be notified of expected timelines upon request initiation.

4.4 Migration Requests

Migration requests must be submitted via email to support@mediabirdco.net or through the client area. The request should include login credentials for the source host, FTP or cPanel access, and any relevant DNS or email configuration files.

4.5 Client Cooperation

Clients are expected to provide accurate, complete, and timely information necessary to complete the migration process. Any delay caused by missing information or lack of access may affect the migration schedule.

4.6 Downtime Disclaimer

While JAMILATECH Ltd endeavors to perform migrations with minimal downtime, clients should understand that brief service interruptions may occur during DNS propagation or data transfer. We advise planning migrations during off-peak hours whenever possible.

4.7 DNS and Domain Management

After migration, DNS settings may need to be updated. If your domain is not registered with JAMILATECH Ltd, you will need to update nameservers or DNS records through your registrar. JAMILATECH Ltd will provide necessary guidance upon request.

4.8 Migration Data Integrity

Although every effort is made to ensure complete and accurate data transfer, clients are encouraged to back up their data prior to migration. JAMILATECH Ltd is not liable for data loss caused by pre-existing corruption or errors from the source host.

4.9 Unsupported Scenarios

Migration may not be possible in the following scenarios:

  • Encrypted or obfuscated files with no decryption key.
  • Custom-built platforms with proprietary configurations not supported by JAMILATECH Ltd.
  • Incomplete access credentials to the source host.
  • Ongoing cyberattacks or infected environments.

5. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate access credentials and information for the source hosting environment.
  • Ensure the site is backed up before requesting migration.
  • Test the migrated website thoroughly before updating DNS settings.
  • Inform all relevant stakeholders (e.g., developers or email users) about the planned migration window.
  • Communicate promptly with the support team for any issues or clarifications.

6. JAMILATECH Ltd Responsibilities

  • Assess migration feasibility and provide a transparent plan of action.
  • Execute data transfers securely and professionally.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protection of all client data.
  • Assist in resolving minor post-migration configuration issues.
  • Offer guidance on DNS management and performance optimization.

7. Migration for Resellers

For reseller accounts, JAMILATECH Ltd offers bulk migration services. Resellers must provide a manifest of accounts to be migrated. Depending on the number of accounts, bulk migration may require extended timeframes and separate agreements.

Post-migration support for end-clients remains the reseller's responsibility unless otherwise agreed in a white-label support contract.

8. Limitations and Disclaimers

  • JAMILATECH Ltd does not guarantee 100% compatibility with custom scripts or outdated applications.
  • Migration does not include redesign, SEO, or content revisions unless explicitly ordered.
  • JAMILATECH Ltd shall not be held liable for loss of revenue, data, or reputation due to unexpected migration failures.
  • Any applications requiring reconfiguration (e.g., email clients, FTP tools) post-migration are the client’s responsibility.

9. Post-Migration Support

JAMILATECH Ltd offers limited post-migration assistance to ensure smooth operation on our servers. This includes:

  • Basic functionality testing of the website.
  • Configuration of email accounts where applicable.
  • Troubleshooting common migration issues within the first 72 hours.

10. Migration Fees

JAMILATECH Ltd provides free migration for one website per new hosting account. Additional migrations may incur fees based on complexity, time, and resources required. The support team will provide a quote before initiating paid migrations.

11. Confidentiality

All data and credentials shared with JAMILATECH Ltd during the migration process will be handled with strict confidentiality. We implement secure protocols to prevent unauthorized access or breaches during data transfer.

12. Policy Revisions

JAMILATECH Ltd reserves the right to update this Migration Policy at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes via email or through the client portal. Continued use of migration services constitutes acceptance of the latest version of the policy.

13. Governing Law

This Migration Policy shall be governed by and interpreted under the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which JAMILATECH Ltd operates. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts therein.
